Meet the Coaches — Matthew Tomlanovich

Matthew Tomlanovich is TCC’s Voice and Speech specialist.

Originally from Michigan, has an MA in Vocal Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, a BGS from Oakland University and an MFA in Acting from California Institute of the Arts and. Matt has lived, worked and studied in LA, New York, London and Dallas.

He has taught at SMU, Cal-Arts, The Actor Training Program at the University of Utah, University of North Texas, University of Texas/Dallas, and in London at the East 15 Acting School and Central School of Speech and Drama for the Masters of Classical Acting. As an actor, director and vocal coach, Matt has worked Off, and Off Off-Broadway, LA, Europe and in numerous regional theatres.

When he’s not nurturing the voices of TCC anchor and reporters, Matt moonlights as a professor at Oklahoma State University, where he teaches voice, speech and acting.

As a consultant/coach, he also works with business professionals, voice over artists, actors, teachers, and individuals wishing to minimize or modify their accents. His current academic research is in improving vocal usage for people with chronically painful conditions.

Matt splits his time between OSU and his home in Dallas, where he lives with his wife, Claudia Stephens, a designer and professor of costume design at Southern Methodist University. They have two sons, Raisch and Eli.
