Meet
the Coaches — Barry Nash
TCC
Founding Partner, Barry Nash, is widely regarded as the television
industry’s premier on-air talent coach. He has coached thousands
of television anchors and reporters, including a number of the world’s
best known and most respected local and network news personalities.
In addition to his work with prominent local stations such as KGO
and WSB, he is the principal talent development coach for CNN.
Barry is the principal author of The Handbook for Television Newscast
Performance, and has been quoted widely in college journalism texts.
His work has been featured in American Journalism Review and at
numerous industry conventions.
Barry’s clients include business professionals who use him
to prepare for high-stakes presentations, including public offerings
on Wall Street and arguments before the United States Supreme Court.
He currently tests cases and coaches attorneys for trial using a
curriculum that TCC pioneered for litigators, based on the firm’s
models for testing and coaching newscast and anchor performance.
An actor by training, Barry was graduated from Trinity University
with an M.F.A. in Theater in 1982. When he’s not coaching
in television stations, Barry still practices his acting skills
with local Dallas theater groups, including the Summer Shakespeare
Festival and Kitchen Dog Theater.
He lives in Dallas with his wife, Sandra, and his daughter, Shelby,
who attends Oklahoma City University. His other daughter, Barrett,
is a recent graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.
