Practice :: Fundamental
Learn to listen with respect and conviction. Learning how to listen
attentively and appreciatively is as important as learning how to
read with conversational conviction.
When
you know how to listen, you know how to raise the level of viewer
respect and appreciation for everyone in your newscast or segment,
including yourself.
Great listening is powerful because:
- it
proves you are comfortable enough with your own authority to
relax and let others take center stage, and
- viewers
assume the way you treat colleagues is the way you would treat
them. Few things say as much about your role and personality
as does the way you listen on the air.
