Jonathan Knopf joined forces with the Coaching Company in 2007 as Senior Consultant/Newscast Development, after running his own coaching and consulting company, One on One Communications, LLC.

He has a long-standing reputation for developing award winning news organizations and coaching people who become more powerful communicators.

Jonathan has 30-years experience in the broadcast news business. He first developed his skills as a radio news Reporter in Dallas, TX. He then moved to television and held positions including Reporter, Producer, Executive Producer, Director of News Operations, News Director and General Manager. He worked for stations in Raleigh, NC; Charleston, SC; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; New Orleans and Shreveport, LA. In his last managerial position, Jonathan was the News Director and General Manager of Emmy Award winning News 12 New Jersey, a regional 24-hour cable news channel, serving 1.8 million households in the New York market.

In the mid-90's, Jonathan became a consultant at Audience Research and Development in Dallas, where he developed the viewer tour coaching technique for reporters and anchors. Before AR&D he coached physicians to be better public speakers and police officers in media relations. Today he continues to coach corporate executives to be more powerful communicators.

Jonathan is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, TX where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. He has held organizational leadership positions in the Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi and The Associated Press Broadcasters Association. He was a member of the National SPJ Board of Ethics and participated in revising the Code of Ethics for Journalists. He served on APBA Boards in North Carolina and New Jersey and held the position of APBA of New Jersey President. Jonathan is an active member of the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

When he's not in a newsroom or boardroom, Jonathan can be found turning ribs on the barbeque. He's Assistant Pit Master of the competitive BBQ Team Ribs Within.

Jonathan and his wife Susan currently live in Warren, New Jersey. Their oldest daughter Erin is a pre-med major at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Daughter Mollie attends Watchung Hills Regional High School. And their son Travis is a home-schooler.
